Grandpa's Eggs

Our granddaughter came to visit, and, at breakfast time, sat down
My wife said, "Honey, how about - some eggs with those hash-browns?
Do you want 'em over easy, or on the sunny side
Poached or boiled or scrambled, in an omelette or fried
Yes, I can put 'em in a quiche, or a fluffy white meringue
Hot or cold or devilled, I can even make a flan?"

That little girl looked up and said, to no-one's great surprise,
"There's just one way I like my eggs, it's the only way I prize,
That's the way that Grandpa makes 'em, it's the only way for me
It's the only kind I like to eat, then I can manage three
With the yolks all kinda runny, and the whites all kind of firm
Just the way that they should be, when they've been cooked full-term."

My wife said she could fix the eggs in any shape or form
She could fix 'em any way, even cold or warm
She could do them over easy, or on the sunny side
